The true effect of stress on your health is measured by how you deal with it, not the events or stress itself.

The typical way for many people to deal with stress is through prescription drugs and the use of sedatives. Sedatives can calm but they also dull and depress brain function. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to get a handle on the problem or real cause behind stress and take the necessary steps to deal with it.

It is not always just relaxation that is needed for dealing with stress. There may be times when you need a pick-me-up, or help dealing with irritability, focusing and concentration or sometimes our thoughts need to be calmed so we can get a better night’s sleep.
